Review Marketing

Your Reviews can Make or Break your Local Business

If you own or run a business, your reviews, quantity and quality, will usually make or break your business.  If your business is a restaurant, bar, spa, salon, florist, hotel, coffee shop, cleaners, retail store, etc. then you are a types of retail business affected the most.  If your business is a home or office service business, i.e. contractor, cleaning service, pest control, painting, appliance repair, etc. then you are a type of service business affected second most.

As a business owner or manager, you can ignore the power of online reviews or you can chose to embrace this as a marketing leverage opportunity that can super charge all the rest of your marketing strategies.  All your other marketing efforts are either based on bringing new potential customers to your business or increasing the activity of your existing customers.  82% of those new potential customers are going to look up your business and check out your reviews, almost always against he back drop of your competitors on the Google Local map listings.  A lot of great reviews can drive your new customer conversions to over 80%, while all of the money spent getting potential clients to consider your business can be wasted when the same 80% are taking you off their list of options.

How Do You Turn this into a Competitive Advantage?

You’ll need to get your customers to leave reviews on your Google Local map listing primarily, but also on the other review sites that will most benefit your business.  There are a number of creative ways to make this easier and more attractive for your customers, i.e. making it very convenient, asking at the register, training your employees to ask, emailing or texting to request one the next day, etc.  The key to it being easy long-term is to just be consistent in asking and make sure that you product or service is conveyed with excellence so you’ll be getting plenty of 4 and 5 star reviews.

To see strong advantage over your competitors and attract the most customers possible to try your business first, you’ll want to have double the number reviews as your next closest competition and you’ll want as close to a 5 star rating as you can get.  If you need 20 good reviews to become the leader in your space on Google, then you’ll want to target to get 30-40, as some of the new reviews will get filtered out or fall off because the customer either didn’t submit it properly or has an account that’s not very mature or active.

What Can We do to Make Your Life Easier?

This is where our systems to help you gather your customers’ reviews and knowledge of working with the reviews sites to get them posted can assist you.  We have systems and training designed to help gather your needed reviews.  We then typically post the positive reviews to the appropriate sites while allowing you or your team to handle the negative reviews and make any needed adjustments to your business.  We post using mature and active review accounts to minimize them being filtered out or dropping off later.

To get your business’s reviews to where they need to be can take 3 months, 6 months or a even a year to gather up and post enough positive reviews to take over the front page of Google and be dominant on the other high traffic review sites.  Once you’ve firmly taken the lead, it’s a lot easier and more affordable to maintain your top position.  It’s easiest and least expensive in the long haul to keep your review systems up and running once they’re working well and simply maintain your lead.

We’re available to come meet with you about your business, review your current review situation and then make recommendations on how to turn your business’s reviews in to your greatest marketing asset.  Once you’ve got the great reviews to work with, we can show you how to further leverage those reviews and implement powerful review marketing strategies to grow your customer base further.
